Based on his past comments, and those of Joe Biden, I think that before the end of 2009 legislation will be introduced to weaken the effects of the recent Supreme Court ruling as much as possible.

People are gearing up to buy items that will likely become banned once Obama and the Congress seize the reins. I'm one of them. I ordered a new pistol grip for my shotgun because they will be illegal under the new AWB. I'm also placing bulk orders of .45, 9mm and .223 not because I'm worried about civil unrest but because it's likely the price will skyrocket with new taxes or the ammunition will be unavailable.

My husband and I aren't stocking up on guns because we fear the 2nd amendment will be flushed down the toilet with the rest of that pesky bill of rights. It's because we have a sense of history and we know that at some point in our lifetime, men with guns are going to knock at our door and invite us to leave our home to make way for the new, more deserving owners. It's the way the socialists role, baby.

And yes, we are bitterly clinging to our religion too.

1) Please learn to spell and use sentences that have noun-verb agreement.

2) Our country was founded by people who knew that the best defense against an oppressive government was an armed citizenry. If the colonists had not been armed, the American Revolution would not have happened.

I will say that while many are freaked out, I personally am glad that there is a rekindling of the desire to own firearms. It is a great pastime and by default more gun ownership you will see a reduction in crime... I suppose I will concede that could be one positive by product of Obama being our president elect.

I am stocking up on essentials including pantry items and food for Sam the Wonder Cat (who at 26 pounds is seriously fond of groceries) and I do intend to provide myself with weaponry as well. I suspect that there will be a calm until Spring but then, when the presumptive President Obama is unable to deliver on the many promises he made or if he moves in directions that are totalitarian in nature - all heck will break loose and I want to protect myself and mine!

Obama supporters - here is why some of us are stocking up. O says he will create a National Civilian Force as large as the military - what will they do? O says we should not expect to be able to drive our SUVs or put our thermostats at 72 degrees anymore - I guess he will tell us what to drive.
