Offshore Drilling and Nuclear Power Have Bigger Mandate than Obama

According to the most recent Rasmussen poll, 68% of Americans, or more than two-thirds, support off-shore drilling. That's a lot more than the support Barack Obama got on election day. So if he thinks he has a mandate, than off-shore drilling has an even bigger one.

Nuclear power also has a bigger mandate than Obama, being supported by 55%, compared to Obama's 53%.

Time for government to get out of the way so that the private sector can get us cheap oil and clean energy.

Sadly, I fear this means nothing.

America elected a man who is on the Left side of a Party already opposed to both offshore drilling and nuclear energy.

And now, with the steady decline in the price of oil, the Party In Power will see absolutely no need to proceed with something that, while obviously good for America in the long run, may hurt them politically in the short run...

...where Washington lives its life.

Re: Lower Oil Prices, BTW: I blogged about who's really responsible quite some time ago here:
