Palin and Huckabee Top 2012 Poll
CNN has a poll out showing Mike Huckabee and Sarah Palin leading in the 2012 GOP presidential race. Usually such early polls mean nothing, but it is petrifying to me that Huckabee is still a viable option for 2012. Every serious possible contender in 2012 is both God-fearing and pro-life: Palin, Mitt Romney, Bobby Jindal, Mark Sanford, Newt Gingrich, etc. So why do we need Huckabee, who like the others is socially conservative, but unlike the others is a big government liberal?
Considering that Palin is my #10 most favorite person the right, and that Huckabee is my #10 least favorite person on the right, it is not difficult to figure out which of the two I would support. But there are certainly candidates that could outrank Palin for me. Anyway, it's a long way away, and a lot of things could change - except for Huckabee.
The Sarah Palin Blog has more details on the poll.

I've wondered about Huckabee's position in the poll, too. I find Sarah Palin far more appealing on many levels in regards to 2012.
One of the biggest problems Sarah will have to deal with in 2012 is the perception built by the Left...and Tina Fey, that she is an intellectual lightweight, incapable of being able to govern, let alone walk and chew gum at the same time. Many allegations were made about her honesty and her ability to be governor of Alaska, let alone Vice President of the United States.
Fortunately she has 4 years to challenge those perceptions and prove she is more than capable of carrying the conservative standard in 2012.
This whole subject is boring to me. Obama hasn't even taken office and we are already talking about Republican candidates for 2012.
Who would have guessed that McCain would have been the nominee 18 months ago? He was carrying his own luggage through airports, few staff and no money.
Personally, I don't have a clue who would be the best candidate in 2012. Candidates will deny they plan to run at this early date and won't even throw their hat in the ring for at least two more years.
I think there are more important things to talk about right now, like 2010. We need to look at new and bright Conservative candidates for Congress who don't vote like Democrats.
The strategies for which candidates will be best determined once we are at least six months into the Obama administration. If he even lives up to a few of his campaign promises, he will completely ruin the economy and the courts while dodging all the secrets that will be leaking out, giving the media plenty to write about and take him off task.
There is a reason that Huckabee's show is now drawing over 6 million viewers a week and try taking at look at the lines at all of his book signings I went to one here and I waited in line for 1 hr and when I left the line was still at least that long. There is a CNN video of one of his signings at a walmart and the reporter appears to be in shock as her and the camera crew walk the line that snakes thru the store talking to people most of whom are carrying multiple copies. The reporter said there were at least 800 people lined up, and this is being repeated at signing after signing. He is building up the already huge Fair Tax army with one whole cahpeter in his book dedicated to it. Let's see and now ABC has signed him for 2 shows a day on radio. You don't think he is going to be huge in 2012? Might wanna step away from the koolaide and do your own research into why people love this guy.
