The Republican Party Will Get Our Money When It Becomes More Like the Club for Growth
I love my friend Nick for many reasons. One of them is this letter he sent as a reply to one of the Republican National Committee's countless undeserved requests for his money:
Dear RNC letter Opener,
As a deep red conservative, I will once again refrain from giving the RNC or any of its Republican sister agencies any money for 2009. The atrocious inability of the Republican Party’s leadership, if I may stretch a word, to whip its members into standing firm against the 700 billion dollar bailout is proof that for at least the 9th year in a row, it deserves no money from me or any other proponent of small government. As usual, the G.O.P. talks a good game of fiscal responsibility but succeeds in being the party only of slower government growth. Of managed illegal immigration. Of good-judges-when-convenient. No sir, once again The Club for Growth will be getting the money that might have gone to you, if only you had courageously stuck to the principles which over 50% of this nation will vote for repeatedly, if given the chance.
Even your literature shows you don’t get it: “...continue to stand on our core principles of low taxation, personal responsibility, and strong national security...” Where’s the “shrinking government” in there? I know that most of you couldn’t find equilibrium on a supply and demand curve if your life depended on it, but how hard is it to find people who vote against bills that have new spending? We deserve to lose with the leadership you keep raining on us.
If you want some advice on how to get my donations, talk to Pat Toomey or Mark Sanford. Until then, get used to 2nd place – you deserve it. I’m only sad that I have to sit near you for the ride.Nick

That's a great letter. Nick sounds like a good solid conservative. The RNC is a joke.
Exactly why Toomey should strike while the iron is hot and challenge Specter again!
Great post.
