Note to Prospective Law Students: Chicago Is No Longer Conservative

We are in the middle of the season during which many prospective law students have to make decisions about which law school to attend, and I have recently received a number of questions from prospective students about these tough decisions.

Unfortunately, some are under the impression that the University of Chicago is still a conservative law school. So I feel compelled to point out that even though Chicago Law has long had the reputation of being conservative, and law & economics focused, it is no longer so. It is losing its older law & economics guys, only to replace them with not-so-conservative guys. It's sad but it's true. Even Justice Scalia, who taught there for a few years, has declared it non-conservative.

So, where to receive a conservative, law & economics experience? The easy answer is George Mason. It is hands down the best (and perhaps the only) truly law & economics school in the country right now. Am I biased because I'm a Mason guy? Well, I chose to attend it in part because of this program. So make of that what you will. And let me know if you have further questions.
