Arizona State Withholds Honorary Degree from Obama Because He's Unaccomplished
This says so much about Obama:
Arizona State will thank the president for his commencement speech with a hearty handshake instead.
President Obama will deliver the speech on May 13, but without the customary honorary degree.
University spokeswoman Sharon Keeler told the student newspaper: “Because President Obama’s body of work is yet to come, it’s inappropriate to recognize him at this time.”
I guess voting present in the Illinois legislature 131 times does not count.
Usually, one or two people receive one each spring. None will this year.
“It’s someone who’s really outstanding, who has made outstanding contributions in their field,” she said.
I guess writing two memoirs doesn’t count.
What's remarkable is that Arizona State quite properly finds Obama not accomplished enough to receive an honorary degree (unlike its other commencement speakers), yet he was somehow found accomplished enough to become President of the United States. How sad is that?
But hey, you don't have to take my word for it. See what Michelle Obama had to say not too long before Barack's presidential campaign made her proud of her country for the first time:
