Top Obama Adviser: Tea Party Movement Possibly "Unhealthy"
I wrote a column a few weeks ago pointing out Obama's plan to categorize dissent as "unpatriotic." Now, he's sunk even lower - first with the Homeland Security report painting conservatives as potential terrorists, and now with one of his closest advisers, David Axelrod, saying the tea party movement could mutate into something "unhealthy." Now he could be talking about what he thinks could happen, or about what he thinks has already happened. Either way, it's revolting that this administration can never seem to take dissent for what it is - disagreement with its policies.
This is their strategy: paint conservatives as so extremist as to be unpatriotic, dangerous, and potentially terroristic, so when 2012 comes around and Obama has performed awfully, he can point to the conservatives and say - at least I'm not as extreme as they are.
Here's the Axelrod video:
Notice how when he was pressed as to whether the tea parties are really "unhealthy," he doesn't backtrack and even adds, "so far these are expressions."
So far?
So far?
What's that supposed to mean? You have no evidence whatsoever that these "expressions" are going to turn into anything violent or unhealthy, yet you portray them as having the potential to be dangerous? Would the administration ever say that peaceful left-wing movements are "so far" peaceful, with the implication that in the future they will no longer be so?
Obama forgets that he's president, and that his administration's words mean things. And so far, he's only showing us that he's a low-class president.
