People can legitimately debate who counts as "white," but this only goes to demonstrate the inanity of making admission and employment decisions based on people's skin color. Unsurprisingly, Middle Eastern-Americans who are apparently classified as "white" are now trying to escape that label so they become no longer disadvantaged in the college admissions process. It is silly, but can you really blame them? America actively disincentivizes whiteness.
