Someone sent me this video, and I thought I'd share it. This is my favorite part:

This is great news. The Africans clearly know how to get themselves out of poverty better than Westerners who blindly throw money at Africa without encouraging further free trade.

Apparently around 100 college presidents are urging lawmakers to lower the drinking age to 18, under the banner of the Amethyst Initiative. Considering that a lower drinking age would reduce the reasons behind the ludicrousness and binge drinking we see on college campuses (as exemplified by foreign countries with a lower drinking age), and not to mention would increase individual responsibility at an age where persons can already give their lives to their country anyway, I'm for lowering the drinking age as well.

Exactly two days ago in Israel, a premature baby survived an abortion, and when doctors found out she was alive (five hours after putting her in a cooler), they rightfully scrambled to save her life.

Barack Obama would have her die.

And this is what I tackle in my column today. Obama thrice opposed an Illinois bill that would have allowed babies who survive an abortion, and who are fully outside of their mother's body, to receive humane treatment. And as I conclude in my column, this is morally extremist, or evil, or dreadfully reckless. Which one do you think it is?

I've been repeatedly asked to provide my thoughts on the GOP VP stakes, and have thus far refrained from doing so, perhaps because I am so unenthused by the choices in the Republican Party.

Finally, I decided to write something about it. In my column today I insist that the choice be conservative, and even give my take on some names, though without the analysis.

Have you seen this picture of the Spanish basketball team? Apparently it's bad. I don't think it's a big deal.

There's this dumb article quoting Jason Kidd complaining that the Spanish players won't be punished like American players would have been. Instead of saying that no one should be punished for this, he insists that the Spanish should be punished because the Americans would be too.

Interestingly, this CNN article shows that American Asians are a lot more offended than the actual Chinese, who should be the first to be offended should there be a real reason for it.

Kind of funny, but it's sad why he was drinking.

Senator Jim DeMint and Representative Jeb Hensarling have launched a website that counts down to "American Energy Freedom Day" - October 1, 2008, which is whent the prohibition on offshore drilling and oil shale recovery will end (barring, of course, extension of the bans).

As of this moment, there are 48 days, 11 hours, and 30 minutes to American Energy Freedom Day.

The Bush administration made twin mistakes with Russia. It overpersonalized relations, with Bush hoping to coax out Putin's better side, and tiptoed around Moscow in the hopes that gentle treatment would encourage it to act responsibly. The irony is that Barack Obama -- with his commitment to personal diplomacy and a gentler U.S. footprint around the world -- wants to make those two tendencies centerpieces of his foreign policy.

If you have ever had a conversation about taxes with a liberal, you've inevitably heard the refrain: "Well, I don't mind giving more to the government."
