A Letter to the Editor About Obama
Someone sent me this video, and I thought I'd share it. This is my favorite part:
By the time everyone was equal, they were equally poor. By the time everyone received their free education, it was worth nothing.
On Abortion, Obama Acts ‘Above His Pay Grade’
Exactly two days ago in Israel, a premature baby survived an abortion, and when doctors found out she was alive (five hours after putting her in a cooler), they rightfully scrambled to save her life.
Barack Obama would have her die.
And this is what I tackle in my column today. Obama thrice opposed an Illinois bill that would have allowed babies who survive an abortion, and who are fully outside of their mother's body, to receive humane treatment. And as I conclude in my column, this is morally extremist, or evil, or dreadfully reckless. Which one do you think it is?
Bush and Obama: Same Foreign Policy Mistakes?
There is a reason I love Rich Lowry's work:
The Bush administration made twin mistakes with Russia. It overpersonalized relations, with Bush hoping to coax out Putin's better side, and tiptoed around Moscow in the hopes that gentle treatment would encourage it to act responsibly. The irony is that Barack Obama -- with his commitment to personal diplomacy and a gentler U.S. footprint around the world -- wants to make those two tendencies centerpieces of his foreign policy.
Obama Plans the Pledge of Allegiance for BEFORE He Gets on Stage
A close acquaintance who attended Barack Obama's rally at Baldwin-Wallace College yesterday informed me of a very interesting incident that took place there (news item here).
Right when Obama started speaking, a freelance photographer began shouting that he wanted to say the Pledge of Allegiance. The fo'bama crowd, clearly turned off by the man's fascist/patriotic tendencies, tried to drown him out. But Obama, realizing that he could not turn down saying the Pledge (probably as a result of the hullabaloo that erupted when he failed to put his hand on his heart in the past), allowed the man to proceed with the Pledge. Of course, when the Pledge was done, the fo'bamas erupted in wild applause, apparently because Obama had approved of the same Pledge that they were insulting the photographer for just moments earlier.
Ok, so far you might think that Obama campaign does not normally schedule the Pledge at his events.
But no. When the man began interrupting, Obama asked "I thought we already did the Pledge, we didn't do the Pledge yet?" So, either Obama suffers from severe amnesia, or he expected his staffers to do the Pledge before he gets anywhere near the stage.
Indeed, after the Pledge, Obama said, "We usually do an invocation and a Pledge before we start so I don't know what happened but I'm glad you reminded us."
No Barack, "We" do not usually do the Plege. Your staffers and your fans might. But not you. You can't "delegate" the Pledge of Allegiance and claim credit for doing it.
Here's a video of what happened:

And another one from the photographer's end of the gym:
Barack Obama Compares Himself to Paris Hilton
Considering Obama's response to McCain's ad comparing him to Paris Hilton, you would think that Obama views such a comparison so insulting and inappropriate that he would never use it on anyone, ever.
Well... except on himself. This nice little Washington Post article from three years ago quotes Obama, at the time the fresh rising star:
"Andy Warhol said we all get our 15 minutes of fame," says Barack Obama. "I've already had an hour and a half. I mean, I'm so overexposed, I'm making Paris Hilton look like a recluse."Woops! This "star is blind" to his own hypocrisy, figuratively speaking.
Why Barack Obama Will Never Be Batman
I saw The Dark Knight - twice, actually - and it was an amazing movie.
But more importantly, it made me realize I want a president like Batman. Which, as I point out in my column today, Barack Obama can never be.
July Least Deadly Month Since Iraq Invasion
Eleven U.S. casualties is still too many. But it is obvious that we are doing pretty well with this war. And it is not thanks to Barack Obama's long-standing and repeated pleas for withdrawal.
He Ventured Forth to Bring Light to the World
Remember this piece from The Times that poked fun at Obama bringing "light to the world"?
Well now there's a video version of it:
Barack Obama: The Most Liberal Senator
Earlier this year, the National Journal ranked all U.S. Senators by ideology according to their votes. You may have noticed the Obama people in every media outlet since trying to convince us that these rankings don't matter, etc. etc.
Well, you can go see for yourself. Obama did vote on the liberal side of bills at a rate higher than anyone else in the Senate. He is the most liberal Senator, end of story.
But I do love how liberals take such offense at being called, well, liberal. It says something.
The Untold Story: Barack Obama’s Trip Abroad
The media gave us the entire positive side about Obama's adventure abroad. But what happened behind closed doors?
We may never know for sure, but in my column today, I put forth some possibilities. Excerpt:
Germany: Obama meets with Chancellor Angela Merkel, opening, “Angie sweetie, don’t worry, I’ve been opposed to the Iraq War from the start too, so high five!”
Merkel, looking at Obama’s waiting hand, asks him, “You do realize I was happy with the invasion, right?”
Obama: “But what was the big fuss about Old Europe being virulently anti-war and anti-Bush?”
Merkel: “That was the guy before me. And by the way, you’re not speaking at the Brandenburg Gate.”
Americans Wake Up to War on Terror Reality
Americans had long been convinced by Democrats and other anti-war propagandists that the U.S. is losing the War on Terror, and its most important battle in Iraq. The likes of Harry Reid have called the Iraq war "lost" and Barack Obama says we have become less safe because of our execution of the War on Terror.
Well, the latest Rasmussen poll has some striking numbers on Americans' perception of the War on Terror:
And on the Iraq War too:Over half of American voters (51%) now believe the United States and its allies are winning the war on terror, the highest figure recorded in nearly four years by Rasmussen Reports in a nationwide survey.
Only 16% now think the terrorists are on top, while 27% view it as a stalemate. Prior to this week’s survey, the number who believe the terrorists are winning had never fallen below 20%.
Last July, just 36% thought the U.S. and its allies were winning. At that time, an equal number—36%--thought the terrorists were ahead.
All I have to say to the Democrats and Barack Obama is, I'm sorry. I am very sorry Americans are finally catching up to the fact that we are fighting the War on Terror quite well. Hey, I'm sorry that we are winning the war, period. You will have to find another issue to needlessly drag the country into the ground for.Forty-two percent (42%) now think the situation in Iraq will improve over the next six months. That’s up from 37% a week ago and 23% a year ago.
Only 23% now expect things to get worse in Iraq, down from 49% last July.
John McCain's Non-New York Times Op-ed
You may have heard that the New York Times has refused to print an Iraq op-ed by John McCain, the same man it endorsed in the Republican primary, even when Barack Obama had just written an Iraq op-ed himself. Apparently McCain's op-ed wasn't written on Obama's terms.
Well, for convenience, my syndicate has put up the op-ed on its website if you haven't read it yet.
Yet another reason the Times is going down the toilet.
Barack Obama’s Verbiage Demonstrates Insecurity with Global Affairs
Well, I've noticed it. And in today's column, I analyze some of the verbiage in Obama's latest major speech.
Barack Obama's Iraq Flip Flops Put Kerry to Shame
Remember when John Kerry was hammered for saying he voted for the $87 billion before he voted against it?
That's nothing.
The McCain campaign has released a video documenting Barack Obama's "change" on Iraq in a couple of short of years. They seriously didn't even need to editorialize. The videos of Obama himself speaking are all you need to be utterly turned off by him.
Barack Obama to Children: Learn Spanish!
I'm a little behind on this, but Ed Morrissey over at Hot Air has an excellent analysis of Obama's view on what languages children should speak.
Can Obama be any more of a panderer? And can he be any more inconsistent?
